Can people live in harmony with nature? This question will be answered by over 100 students and participants from 12 universities from 7 countries. ITQ is hosting the second Makeathon on Gran Canaria from February 17–20, 2017. The internationally mixed teams will demonstrate how smart technologies can bring people together in three workshops, “Robotics,” “Cars to Come,” and “Industry Challenges,” cooperatively building demonstrators for a better future.
The workshops are supported by universities and well-known industrial companies from the fields of mechanical engineering, automotive, and automation.
A Makeathon is an event where things are built (“making”) within a defined time period, more or less without interruption (like a “marathon”). In this particular case, mechatronic prototypes will be built. The teams essentially execute an industrial project at high speed, from brainstorming to presentation of the finished prototype. The goal is to show not only what can be done with modern automation technology, but also what a lifestyle and working world based on sustainability can look like.
AMK has been a supporter of young people in technology for many years and is once again involved in this event as a sponsor.
